At DM Foundries, we plan, prepare and produce metal castings in accordance with our Customer requirements.

 

Examples of our work include the Floral Hall at the Royal Opera House in London. We work to ISO 9002 standards to ensure our products are of the highest quality.

 

FOUNDRY FOREMAN - FULL TIME

 

You will be responsible for scheduling, co-ordinating and supervising the work of all Foundry Operatives, to plan, prepare and produce, finish off and book out metal castings in accordance with job cards provided, ensuring that all work is delivered safely and on time. You will examine materials and products at various stages of processing for conformance to quality specifications. Along with managing equipment and materials required.

 

 

Role will include:

•Manage Job Cards to ensure tasks are delegated to the workforce in a timely and efficient manner

•Manage the workforce and ensure they are aware their work load and production deadlines

•Manage workforce clock cards and ensure they are signed off on a Monday morning

•Ensure the workforce are working in a safe, efficient and timely manner

•Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy

•Manage the pattern stores

•Complete and monitor required paperwork

•Make and prepare sand Moulds ready for casting if requested

•Make and prepare cores using sand if required

•Knock out castings using various techniques

•Weigh up metal using scales ready for melting

•Use furnaces to melt weighed out metal ready for casting

•Work as a Furnaceman to create castings using molten metal

•Carry out welding and fettling as required

•Drive the Fork Lift Truck if trained to do so

•Ensure castings are packaged and booked out ready for delivery or collection

•Comply with Safe Working Practices and Health and Safety Procedures and ensure work force comply with such

•Any other duty required from time to time

 

Desirable:

•A moulding qualification or experience would be beneficial

•Fork Lift Licence

 

Essential:

•Previous experience working within a Foundry

•Have at least 1 year supervisory experience.

•Good man management skills.

 

 

 

QUALIFIED MOULDER - FULL TIME

 

REQUIREMENTS

Previous work within a foundry is essential.

A moulding qualification or experience would be beneficial.

A Fork Lift Truck licence would also be beneficial but not essential.

 

Job Duties will include:

•Make and prepare sand Moulds ready for casting

•Make and prepare cores using sand

•Knock out castings using various techniques as advised by the Foreman

•Ensure work areas are kept clean and tidy

•Weigh up metal using scales ready for melting

•Work on the Furnaces to create castings using molten metal only if fully trained and requested to do so

•Carry out fettling if required

•Ensure patterns are stored and moved to appropriate areas

•Drive the Fork Lift Truck only if fully trained and requested to do so

•Complete paperwork provided for the job being carried out

•Comply with Safe Working Practices and Health and Safety Procedures
